Ariane 6 inaugural launch – mission successful

July 9, 2024 marked the beginning of a new era of space transportation in European.

Europe’s new heavy-lift launch vehicle Ariane 6 carried out its first flight perfectly.

Modular and agile, Ariane 6 has a reignitable upper stage which means it can launch multiple passengers to different orbits in a single flight. On its first mission, Ariane 6 launched several satellites and experiments from space agencies, companies, research institutes, and universities.

Ariane 6 is a European Space Agency (ESA) program for which ESA is the overall launch system architect. As industrial lead contractor and design authority for the launcher, ArianeGroup is responsible for its development and production with its industrial partners, as well as for its marketing through its subsidiary Arianespace. The French space agency CNES is lead contractor and design authority for the launch base at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.

We extend our warmest thanks to all the teams and partners whose talent and commitment have made this success possible.
